Does anyone else out there use shopping to make them feel better? These shorts, this top, and that bright pink bag up there were all purchased around the time my dog Monty died...and I clearly used shopping as a coping mechanism. Did it bring Monty back? No. Do I still miss him every day? Yes. But I did get some new cute clothes, and somehow they make me think of him and smile...and whether or not it's appropriate to shop just because you're sad...well, sometimes a girl's gotta do what she's gotta do. And I like to think Monty would approve of this outfit...I mean, pink might have been his favorite color and he definitely loved to drool all over denim :)

Dear Dress: Your mom (Target) is the best in the whole world because she let me buy you from her for so cheap! I know that probably sounds like a bad mom in your eyes...but guess what?! It means we can be together forever. We can have picnics and go to garden parties and sip girly cocktails...and do anything else that requires a pretty Summer dress. YAY.

Dear Wedges: I suppose I have to thank Target again for having such an awesome shoe selection. You are cute and you're comfy and I see many fun Summer nights in our future. And probably some dancing. Yeah, I know...get excited.

Dear Bag: I'm not sure if it's acceptable to use a straw beach bag as an everyday tote...but that's what I'm doing with you today. I'm sure you would rather be laying on the sand somewhere, getting a nice tan with a book by your side...wait a minute...so would I!
Let's ditch dress & wedges and go have a beach day...you in? What's that? Oh, WORK? Wellll...I think I feel a sore throat coming on...

Happy Monday everyone! What better way to start the week than in a neon skirt and a nice bold blouse, am I right? Take that Monday!

How was the weekend for you guys? We were in Boston at a friend's wedding and it was pretty darn amazing. The weather was perfect and there is nothing like downtown Boston in the Summer. The church my friends got married in was absolutely beautiful and the reception was so much  fun! We made some new friends, we danced our bootays off, and I had the most delicious chocolate mousse I've ever tasted. YUM. The only other thing I will say is this: serving asparagus with dinner can make for an interesting smelling ladies room...if you get what I'm saying. And if you don't...then go eat some asparagus and  take an extra whiff of your pee. Yep, things just got weird around here.

Things That Make Me Warm & Fuzzy:

1. These shorts. I normally hate wearing shorts because they do that horrible front wedgie thing when I walk...but these shorts are magical and somehow don't do that. Which means I will be wearing them way.too.much this Summer. Also if anyone has tips on how to avoid the front wedgie...please let me know :)

2. Weddings! We are headed to Boston for one this weekend and I can't wait to dance. And dance some more. And then dance a little bit more.

3. Mangoes. We've been eating the heck out of them lately, and they are SUPER de-Lish and refreshing.

4. Burying myself under covers while blasting the AC and watching a movie. Please tell me I'm not alone here?! Best feeling ever!

5. The J.Crew wedges I'm wearing. Super comfy and pretty dang fabulous. I feel like a greek goddess with them on....and then I remember I'm also wearing denim shorts and a popover.

There's something about wearing a baseball cap that makes me feel kind of cool. Maybe it's because I associate wearing a hat with the one time in high school that the boy I had a crush on let me wear his for the day. And yes, on that day, I felt like the coolest girl in school. And yes, I probably wrote about 15 separate diary entries about that day too. And carved some initials onto the back of a bathroom stall door :)

 Or, maybe it's just the fact that I don't need to do my hair when I wear one and that's also pretty awesome.

And let me talk about this bag for a quick sec. It was sent to me by yeswalker and I have to say...it's perfect. Perfect for fitting just the right amount of stuff (aka food) in...because that's how I judge my bags...by the amount of snacks I can fit inside :)
